PLC programming
A PLC combines signals, operating modes and sequences into repeatable machine behaviour. When an existing program changes, the new function and its interaction with the existing system both matter. Describe your control task to NOVALUX so the platform, source version, change boundaries and prerequisites for possible implementation can be established.
Enquire about your project
Who is this service for?
- Operators of existing PLC-controlled equipment
- Maintenance teams requesting functional changes
- Project leads with a defined control task
Possible scope of work
- Define non-safety sequence and logic functions for the project
- Describe signal mapping, operating modes and alarm behaviour
- Connect program changes with test cases and version records
What you receive
- An agreed function description
- Change and test evidence within the commissioned scope
- Agreed project files and backups, where accessible and specified
From enquiry to handover
Establish the project version
Manufacturer, CPU, engineering version and available sources define the starting point. A functioning upload is not automatically a complete editable project.
Specify the change
Triggers, sequences, edge cases and restart behaviour are described. Effects on connected operator interfaces and third-party systems are also considered.
Agree testing and rollback
Before a change, backups, a permitted test window and return to the previous state are established. Release is based on criteria agreed in advance.
What we need for your quotation
- CPU type and engineering version
- Current project and access permissions, initially without credentials
- Desired function description and available circuit diagrams
Frequently asked questions
Can any existing PLC be modified?
No. Software access, manufacturer support, project availability and relevant experience must suit the task. Universal manufacturer coverage is not promised.
What happens if the source project is missing?
Available backups and possible recovery routes are assessed first. The effort and technical limits may differ significantly from work with complete sources.
Is remote access required?
No. Whether work can take place on site or through an approved connection depends on operator policies and the task. Remote access is not independently established or assumed.
